  • Important poll! Do you prefer left side (darker, less time in the acid bath) or right side (lighter, longer acid bath). The pots that I’m planning to upload to Etsy this weekend are more like the left side, because I wanted to see if I liked them a little darker. Acid etching is like adding salt to food- you can always etch more, but once it’s done you can’t un-etch. Trying to decide if these should go back in the acid bath for a bit, or if I should do some of each, or just leave them as they are.   • 🤩🤩🤩 The block and case for the faceted mold is DONE! Mold guy sent me this photo yesterday, and the mold should be in the mail by the end of the week- I thought you guys would be interested to see it. A block and case is essentially a “positive” of both halves of the model- I’ll encase the positive with cottle boards and pour plaster on top. After the plaster hardens I’ll remove it- these will be the “working molds”.   • Incredibly excited about the first of seven urns that I’ve made. I don’t post about urns too often on Instagram because I feel like it’s not really what my audience here is looking for, but I make quite a few of them in all sizes and for all species. An interesting (and slightly macabre) urn fact: different people (and animals) need different sized urns. The rule of thumb is that you need one cubic inch for each pound of body weight, so a cat weighing 18 pounds would need an urn with a capacity of 18 cubic inches. But how do you calculate that?
